Nyepi or the Day of Silence falls on March 25th in Bali in 2020. Bali’s major Hindu festival celebrates the end of the old year with the start of the next. This festival is marked by total inactivity. The night before. the Balinese people carry large Ogoh Ogoh (demon statues) through Bali’s streets It’s a very exciting time to be in Bali and witness this unique celebration.
April
Insiders regard this as one of the best times to visit Bali with favourable weather and less crowds. Ubud is a nature lovers paradise with lots to see and do. The Tegallalang Rice Terrace is a must see, as is Tegenungan Waterfall. Visit Temples, Art museums and markets.
There are 2 noteworthy festivals taking place in Ubud in 2020.
Bali Spirit Festival is a favourite for yoga devotees and teachers around the world. The festival comprises classes, workshops, dance and music. The Spirit Festival is taking place 29th March – 5th April 2020. Extend your time in Ubud for the Ubud Food Festival on 17th -19th April. This Food Festival features local and international chefs preparing the finest Indonesian cuisine. A great opportunity to attend classes and try your hand at Indonesian cooking.
May
May is a great month for Surfers and those looking to learn. The West Coast receives big swell so its a great time to stay in Canggu. Echo Beach and Berawa are considered the best surf beaches.
If surfing is not for you maybe Yoga sessions are how you like to keep fit while traveling? Canggu is home to many yoga studios like The Chillhouse and Serenity Yoga.

June
The Bali Arts Festival takes place mid June. Based in Denpasar, Local villages perform Traditional Balinese dances. Expect vibrant costumes, music and unforgettable performances.
