“Bali is magic; with her sweet warm air and thick encroaching jungle. From the majestic jungles of Ubud to the crystal clear waters at the island’s crust, this is a place where we come to relax, rejuvenate, and disconnect from routine.

There are many Seminyak villas to park my luggage and rest my head, but to ensure the full experience I rarely book without the reassurance of a solid review. It is an absolute must to take full advantage of the beautiful design and extravagant luxury that Bali so celebrated for.

Villa Mona is a pleasure for the senses. Tropical flora line the beautiful stone entry way through which a luxurious oasis is revealed. Beyond the secret garden gates is a high ceilinged foyer with a poi fish pond followed by a massive infinity pool, which seems to stretch the length of the property.

Lined with crisp white day beds and fluffy towels, I know I’m in for a high class experience.

I’m handed a fresh juice and led to into a bedroom with a gorgeous canopy bed and a massive open bathroom.

Most in love with the shower that is more like a jungle waterfall with a shower head like a rain cloud and lush greenery abounding.

Across the white stone and green grass path is an equally spacious and classy room with two beds and again plenty of dark wood storage and closet space.

I enter the foyer. To my left is a clean, open kitchen with a beautiful counter top bar space, ideal for sunset cocktails or a tropical Bali-style brunch.

A long, gorgeous wooden table enjoys a lifted view of the pool and caters to group conversation and meal sharing.

On the opposite side of the foyer, tucked in the back corner is a cozy lounge with a large flat screen TV in case a tropical rain storm necessitates a movie night or there is a game you want to keep an eye on. Another lounge area adjacent to the pool affords comfort and shelter from the sun.

On the pool deck, I take in the floral air and let the bright sun kiss my skin; welcomed with cool glistening ripples and crystal clear blue water.

I take time and advantage of the space to stretch and imagine another ten yogis enjoying Villa Mona for our daily practice, whether we rise with the sun or flow beneath a purple sunset. Another beautiful bedroom borders the pool, with a view of the water’s edge and lush green flora beyond. Again canopied with light white curtains to provide added privacy and the extravagance you leave home for.

Walking down the fragrant flower-lined path to the back bedrooms, I realize how thoughtful this layout truly is. Spacious chambers of luxury tucked away in each corner of the villa for guests to create their own private space and seek quiet, comfortable rest. The large wooden table and plenty of day-beds throughout the common space to create a warm center for the group to unite.

Plenty of scenarios played through my imagination for my return to Villa Mona. For an organized retreat to take advantage of the spacious pool deck, lounge areas, and long table for discussions. A getaway to paradise for my best girlfriends, booking in private massages and spa treatments and requesting fresh juice and raw treats.

Or even an intimate family gathering to connect and create beautiful memories together with the rich Balinese culture just down the road and opulent comfort in the villa sanctuary.
